Frequently Asked Questions

What inspires your work?

Desperation and the Uncanny. I believe desperation is the tipping point before the moral decline of others. It is a maddening concept to crave something outside of your willpower and it is a feeling that heeds judgment because we all know it well. The Uncanny emphasis the Desperation; to embrace the unknown to possibly have your desires tests our moral limits. I like to test those limits.

Why are there so many religious symbols in your work?

I am a Christian firstly; secondly, I have always been interested in religions/beliefs/mythologies. They are the backbone of the world; people are raised by these stories. Christianity gives my work a foundation before I create a world. Greek Mythology has always captivated me and Native American tales have recently inspired me. I believe every writer and reader needs a good foundation of literature that has shaped culture and morality.

Why are your poems written with old language?

A reoccurring question! I mimic the classics in my poetry, so I am creating a literal and figurative scene for the reader to analyze. I find it easier to do this with old English terms and sentence structure. I also think it’s foolish to limit terminology based on ease. Poetry is a game and poets play with words.

How long does it take you to complete a project?

We’re going to figure out! I feel like I’m running out of time to write these projects which is good. I work full-time which grants me the stability to create good habits, but the fear of completion is real. I’m going to do my best to begin wrapping up a few projects in 2026.
